RE: SDP201600049 The Vue — LOR #2
Dear Mr. McClellan and Ms. Schimming,
Your LOR application has been reviewed. In order for the amended site plan to be approved the following
revisions are required:
[Comment] Request. Please amend the request letter to be more similar to the document provided on
June 6, 2019. Request letters should serve to request a change(s) to the approved site plan and briefly
note the changes being made. Please note, if the applicant wishes to address staffs review comments,
that is recommended and can be done in a separate comment response letter. An example request
letter and comment response letter from a previously approved LOR are attached to this comment
letter.
2. [4.17] Lightingplan
a. On the plan map, adjust light fixture labels such that they do not conflict with associated
fixture symbols or other plan elements. There appear to be several instances where labels
are not easily legible.
b. The quantity of Fixture A noted in the Luminaire Schedule does not match the plan map
provide. Please review and revise. (The quantity should be 3.)
c. In the Luminaire Schedule, the number of lumens noted for fixtures "C and "K" did not
appear to match the cut sheet(s) provided.
3. [4.17] Cut sheets.
a. As discussed via phone on August 27, 2020, there appear to be two sets of cut sheets
provided with this revised plan set. Please remove duplicate cut sheets and ensure that the
cut sheets provided align with the Luminaire Schedule provided on Sheet 1.
4. [Comment] Light Fixture "J". In comparison of the cut sheet for Fixture J and its intended locations,
it is unclear how the intended feature will be attached/mounted. This fixture appears to mounted on
the undersides of overhang areas, however, on the plan map, there are some areas where Fixture J
seems to be located over sidewalks with no overhang. Is this correct? Please review and revise, if
necessary.
5. [32.6.2(a), 32.5.2(a)] Revision date. In the resubmittal, ensure that a new revision date is provided in
the title block and that the title block is consistent across all sheets.
Staff has provided references to provisions of Chapter 18 of the Code of the County of Albemarle. The
Code is kept up to date by the County Attorney's office. The Code may be found on the County
Attorney's website which may be found under "Departments and Services" at Albemarle.org.
In accord with the provisions of Section 32.4.3.5 of Chapter 18 of the Code if the developer fails to
submit a revised final site plan to address all of the requirements within six (6) months after the date of
this letter the application shall be deemed to have been voluntarily withdrawn by the developer. If you

RE: Rivanna Plaza - SDP2008-00090 - Letter of Revision A2
Dear Marlah,
The applicant has rights to a Dogtopia franchise in Albemarle County and proposes a SUP for an indoor kennel. The site is
located within the Rivanna Plaza Shopping Center and zoned Highway Commercial (HC). The County Zoning Ordinance allows
for Indoor Kennels with approval of a SUP in the HC district.
Please considerthis letter and revised Site Plan Sheets as our requestfor a letter of revision to the referenced site plan. The
changes include the following:
• The purpose of this letter of revision is to provide a fence immediately adjacent to an indoor kennel facility for
outdoor activity.
• There will be approximately 4,000 SF Limits of Construction in order to provide a level pad for the outdoor activity
area.
• Updated Landscape Plan has been provided around the outside fenced area for screening and aesthetics.
• The Landscaping and Parking for the Schewels Property has been updated to show as -built conditions.
• Updated Lighting Plan has been provided on sheet 57 showing three lighting fixtures added to the exterior adjacent to
outdoor activity area.
• This letter is subject to Special Use Permit SP201800022.

Dear Mrs. Gleason,
We have reviewed your comments provided on May 2nd, 2019, and have provided the
following responses:
2. [32.5.2(a)] Special Use Permit. On the Cover Sheet, please provide anote
referencing the special use permit associated with this LOR as well as the
conditions attached to the permit (see attached list of conditions for reference).
Rev. 1: The conditions for SP201800022 have been amended since this LOR was
last submitted. Please update the Special Use Permit Conditions note to include
ALL of the conditions of the special use permit as written and approved by
the Board of Supervisors on Mav I, 2019. A copv of these conditions is
attached
RESPONSE: The updated Special Use Permit conditions have been provided on the cover sheet.
4. [Comment] Landscaping Plan It appears not all of the original landscaping elements,
as approved in the original site plan, are reflected in the revised landscaping plan on
Sheet 56. Specifically, shrubs surrounding Buildings A and B seem to be left off. Please
include those elements on the submitted landscaping plan (see attached excerpt from
2010 site plan for reference). Rev. I: As discussed during our call, please reflect the
following departures from the previous approved site Dian (see attached excerpt from
the approved site plan
a. Depict the removal of all three ICST bushes on the northeast comer of the Building A
and
RESPONSE: The 3 ICST bushes have been added and called out as being removed.
b. Since there has been a change to the parking area of Schewel's Furniture, that
change will need to be included as part of this LOR, before this LOR can be
approved. This will require:
i. Reflecting in the LOR request and materials the removal of two 123
parking, spaces at the building entrance and subsequent creation of two
t2 I parking spaces in the row of parking fronting Route 29
RESPONSE: This LOR has been updated to show the Schewel's as-bulit condition.
ii. Amending the landscaping, plan of the palling .tiea Io show where new planlings
are located. Note: If trees have been remm ed. replacement plantinas
man be needed to meet County requirements.
RESPONSE: This LOR has been updated to show the Schewel's as-bulit condition.
8. [Comment] The special use permit associated with this LOR, SP201800022, will need to be
approved before this LOR can be granted approval by the County. Rev. 1: SP201800022 was
approved by the Albemarle Countv Board of Supervisors on Mav 1.2019. Therefore.
this application can be approved once all review comments are addressed to the
satisfaction of the plan reviewers
