Subject: Entrance Corridor review comments on LOR for SDP2003-102:
Lowe's lighting
Melody,
I've reviewed your submittal and have the following comments:
1. Confirm that no new pole fixtures or pole locations are proposed. Existing poles must not
increase in height. New poles must not exceed 20' in height, including bases and fixtures. Clearly
identify any new poles or fixtures.
2. Provide photometrics on a line drawing site plan so that locations are legible. Include a property
line on the plan.
3. Fixtures emitting 3,000 lumens or more must be full cutoff fixtures. The FL3 wall and pole, 1G,
LC4000K and EG fixtures appear to exceed 3,000 lumens and do not appear to be full cutoff
fixtures. Replace the fixtures with full cutoff styles or provide additional information to clearly
show that proposed fixtures meet the requirements.
4. Revise the photometrics using an LLF of 1.0. Maximum illumination at the ground must not
exceed 20fc.
5. Include on the plan the footcandle values at the ground for the RC1 fixtures.
6. Lamps must have a color temperature between 2000 and 3000 Kelvin. Revise the luminaire
schedule to show that this criterion is met.
7. Poles and fixtures must have a consistent color — dark brown, dark bronze, or black. Revise the
luminaire schedule to show this criterion is met.
8. Add the standard lighting note to the plan: Each outdoor luminaire equipped with a lamp that emits
3,000 or more initial lumens shall be a full cutoff luminaire and shall be arranged or shielded to reflect
light away from adjoining residential districts and away from adjacent roads. The spillover of lighting from
luminaires onto public roads and property in residential or rural areas zoning districts shall not exceed one-
half footcandle.
9. Clarify the meaning of the note, "Red-ish pink building flood arms".
10. Provide the cut sheet for the EACL fixture.
11. Revise the luminaire schedule to clearly show the total lumens emitted by each LED fixture.
12. Note that lighting installed inside the building is not subject to Entrance Corridor review.
Please submit a revised plan addressing each of these comments. Include a memo indicating how each
item was addressed.
Thanks.
Margaret
