Water Protection Performance Bond — VSMP Annual Maintenance Fee
Dear Permittee
The VSMP Annual Maintenance Fee for the project referenced above is due no later than May 2, 2020. This fee is
based on the total disturbed acreage of the site and is prorated for the first year for permits issued during the previous
year. Your VSMP permit shows a total disturbed acreage of 5.79 acres. Therefore, the annual maintenance fee is
$1,700.00 per Albemarle County Code Sections §17-208 and 17-209.
To pay the annual maintenance fee, please send a check payable to the County of Albemarle to my attention along
with a copy of this letter.
If you do not pay the annual maintenance fee by the due date, your permit will expire, a stop work order may
be issued, and the permit can be revoked. The County of Albemarle will pursue all remedies to recover these fees.
Late payments. Any late payment shall be subject to interest at the underpayment rate provided in Virginia Code §
58.1-15 and shall be calculated on a monthly basis at the applicable periodic rate. A ten (10) percent late payment
fee shall be charged to any account more than ninety (90) days past due. Remedies. The County may pursue any
remedies provided by State law to collect any past due amount. In addition, the County or the administrator may
pursue the remedies provided in section 17-900 et seq., including revocation of any approval.
