Hey Cameron,
Thank you for these comments. Per Sec. 33.52(A) of the Code of Albemarle, it is our request to have the
Board of Supervisors take action on this zoning map amendment application (ZMA2020-12 White Gate Village)
on or before September 21, 2023 or within a reasonable amount of time beyond the 36-month period required
to complete the review of the application and to hold any required public hearings. Let me know if you need
anything more formal to process this deferral request.
Best,
Kelsey

Good evening everyone,
Attached you will find the first review comment letter for this Zoning Map Amendment (ZMA) application. Please be
aware that the letter does not include comments/recommendations from the County Engineer or the Parks &
Recreation Department. Those reviewers are still working on their reviews, but I will send you any comments or
documents from them once I receive them.
Please note the "Action After Receipt of Comments" section (pages 25-26 of the PDF). The Zoning Ordinance requires
that ZMA applications go to a public hearing with the Commission within 90 days after acceptance for review, unless
the applicant requests a deferral. Requesting a deferral will allow you to revise the application to address comments
and resubmit for more reviews with staff. You can request a deferral for up to 36 months, and I typically advise
applicants to request the full amount of time. That leaves you, as well as staff, the most flexibility when it comes to
making revisions and scheduling public hearings in the future.
You will need to let me know which of the three options listed under Action After Receipt of Comments you'd like to
take by November 16, 2020.
Please let me know if you have any questions or comments regarding anything in the letter or the process moving
forward.
Have a great weekend,
Cameron
