RE: Avon Park II Development (SUB 2020000173)
Thank you for your comments dated November 24, 2020 on the above referenced project. Below are our responses to
the remaining comments on the road plans.
Engineering (Emily Cox)
1. This comment is acknowledged.
2. Cover sheet has been updated with plan number.
3. Profile for Desoto Court was provided on sheet 9.
4. DB & PG references have been added. See sheet 2.
5. Guardrail has been added along the edge of parking on Desoto Court. Please see sheet 3.
6. No parking signs have been added on sheet 3.
7. Landscaping sheet will be added with the site plan. Street trees are shown on sheet 16 along with
calculations. Utilities on this sheet have been shown for reference. They are located 5 feet away from
meters (as approved by the ACSA) and in locations where storm sewer has at least 6’ of cover.
8. Sight distance looking the other way on Hathaway Street has been added to the end of the road. See
sheets 3 and 15.
9. Radius has been updated to 25’. See sheet 3.
10. Design speeds have been added to the street sections.
11. Sidewalk detail has been adjusted to note 4” concrete of 3000 psi minimum.
12. Street K Values have been revised to meet minimum VDOT standards.
Planning (Chris Perez)
1. The roadside ditch is proposed to be improved as shown on sheet 5 of the road plans. VDOT has
reviewed the design for the roadside ditch and accepted it, along with the improvements to the
private driveway entrance.
2. Please see sheet 16 for street tree locations and calculations including a planting schedule.
3. The setbacks and rear lot lines have been adjusted to match the subdivision plan.
4. VDOT has accepted the proposed entrance to the site.
VDOT (Adam Moore)
1. K values along Hathaway Street have been adjusted to meet minimum VDOT standards for vertical
curves with the design speed of 25 mph. Please see sheet 8.
2. Parking will be allowed on one side of Hathaway Street as it is in the existing portion of the street.
The section on sheet 6 has been adjusted to reflect this.
ACSA (Richard Nelson)
1. This plan has been approved by ACSA per approval letter dated November 18, 2020.
