Dear Mr. and Mrs. King:
On October 4, 2006, the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors took action on SP- 2006 -019,
Bionic Innovations, LLC to allow a Home Occupation "Class B" for an orthotics crafting shop in a
detached garage, on Tax Map 55D Parcel 18 in the White Hall Magisterial District. Please note
that this approval is subject to the following conditions:
Special Use Permit 2006 -19 shall be developed in general accord with the concept plan
dated August 14, 2006, prepared by Kevin and Melissa King, and titled "Bionic
Innovations, LLC' (Attachment B.) Important elements of the concept plan include the
location of the garage with an indication of which parts of the garage will be used for the
Home Occupation;
2. The home occupation may not use both the basement and the garage facilities at the
same time;
3. There will be no employees other than members of the immediate family living on the
premises;
4. There will be no onsite sales or fittings of orthotic products; and
5. There shall be no more than seven (7) vehicle deliveries per week.
In the event that the use, structure or activity for which this special use permit is issued shall not
be commenced within twenty -four (24) months after the issuance of such permit, the same shall
be deemed abandoned and the authority granted thereunder shall thereupon terminate. For
purposes of this section, the term "commenced" shall be construed to include the
commencement of construction of any structure necessary to the use of such permit within two
(2) years from the date of the issuance.

Please be aware that establishment and operation of a Home Occupations, Class B use is
subject to supplementary regulations of the Zoning Ordinance (Section 5.2). Copies of the
supplementary regulations are attached.
Before beginning this use, you must obtain a zoning clearance from the Zoning
Department. Before the Zoning Department will issue a clearance, you must comply with
the conditions in this letter. For further information, please call Jan Sprinkle at 296 -5832.
