It is hoped that you will decide to keep your property in the Panorama Agricultural/Forestal District. Albemarle County supports and encourages such districts as a voluntary method to protect the County's Rural Area. Albemarle County currently has about 72,400 acres enrolled in twenty-eight agricultural/forestal districts. (Note that property remains in a district even when ownership changes.) Please note that your property will remain in the Panorama Agricultural/Forestal District for an additional 10 years unless you request withdrawal in writing to the Board of Supervisors at the above address before they take action on September 18, 2019. The district is composed of the following described lands, identified by parcel identification number: Tax map 31: parcels 21 E.; Tax map 44: parcels 9A, 9C, 12, 12Q, 12X, 12Y, 12Z.; Tax map 45A, section 1: parcels 27. The area is designated as Rural Area in the Comprehensive Plan and the included properties are zoned RA Rural Areas. Agricultural and Forestal Districts are voluntary conservation districts that landowners can join to support the County's efforts to protect the Rural Areas. Land in the Districts is subject to limitations on subdivisions and some other development activity. Your property is not in the District and is not subject to those limitations, but is adjacent to the District. You are receiving this letter to notify you of a public hearing on the periodic review of the Lanark District.
