The Department of Transportation, Charlottesville Residency Transportation and Land Use
Section, has reviewed the above referenced plan as submitted by Hewitt Solutions, PLLC, dated
17 December 2020, and offers the following comments:
1. What type of truck is expected to deliver equipment and materials, how often are those
trucks expected to arrive, and what route are they expected to use to approach the site? I
recommend conducting a study to ensure that the route will support these trucks.
2. Show details for the proposed temporary construction entrance and subsequent permanent
low -volume commercial entrance.
3. Show details for the storm water management plan, including where runoff will leave the
project site.
4. Note that the final plan must show conformance with the VDOT Road Design Manual
Appendices B(1) and F, as well as any other applicable standards, regulations or other
requirements.
Please provide a digital copy in PDF format of the revised plan along with a comment response
letter. If further information is desired, please contact Doug McAvoy Jr. at (540) 718-6113.
