The design plans for the proposed triple box culvert have been forward to the Culpeper District Structure & Bridge Section, as well as the Hydraulics Section. The following comments will need to be addressed: a. Please confirm that Albemarle County has approved a CLOMR for the proposed floodplain alteration. b. Please confirm that Albemarle County has initiated the floodplain alteration process. HEC-RAS analysis report indicates that the proposed connector road will be adequately protected from flooding and that 100 year regulatory floodplain elevations will be increased by 2.59 ft. Additional comments from S&B to be addressed prior to acceptance into the State inventory: Comments regarding some of the plan details described below. 2. Box culvert shop drawings show a cast in place headwall. Details for the construction of the headwall section will need to be added to the plan. 3. Geotechnical report in accordance with Chapter 3 of the Manual of Instructions is under review. A Traffic Maintenance Plan (TMP) may be required to obtain a permit to work within VDOT Right of Way.
