1. Sheet 1
a. Floodplain Information: Please revise Eff, date to May 16, 2016 consistent with 18-30.3.2 (Rev.
1) Addressed.
b. Recommend Drainage Note that explains no new storm inlets or new pipes are proposed. (Rev. 1)

2. Sheet 2
a. Provide Note to Contractor re. disposition of storm pipes beneath inlet (capped /abandoned /etc.)
once inlet is demolished. Especially consider obligation to preserve existing pipes that will

b. Clarify NE and NW parcel boundaries, via linework, which appear somewhat ambiguous. (Rev. 1)

letter with adjacent owner/s (including RW held by Albemarle /VDOT) to perform work on off -
site parcel/s. Certificate of Take at bk.-pg. 4685-642 includes description of 3,193 ftz temporary
construction easement, which has expired and may not be relied upon by this project. (Rev. 1)
Withdrawn. Applicant response (letter, 3/8/21): `VDOT review /approval of the amendment and
the approval of a land use permit for work within the VDOT right of way gives the contractor and
owner authorization to work within the right of way. No offsite easements are needed on adjacent
properties.'
f. Show (existing) landscaping on parcel to SW (offsite vegetation must be protected). (Rev. 1)
Withdrawn. Applicant: `The curbing along the SW property line is existing and will remain.
There will be no work along this boundary except for the removal of the existing sheds and re -
pouring 8 linear feet of curbing. There will be no impacts to the adjacent property or the

landscaping on the adjacent property. This curbing and the other improvements are existing and
will remain.'
3. Sheet 3
a. Provide details (and typ. detail) for proposed concrete drainage flume. (Rev. 1) Partially
addressed. As/ollow-u :Please revise `bottom =3' wide' to `bottom =2' wide' on sheet 4.
b. Near entry from Rio Road, provide `No left / 1-way' or similar sign to prevent vehicles entering 1-
way site access. (Rev. 1) Addressed.
c. Label CG-6. (Rev. 1) Addressed.
d. Label CG-2 (wherever used). (Rev. 1) Addressed.
e. Provide reference to sheet 7 dumpster pad dcr (Rev. 1) Addressed.

h. Provide bumper blocks, if needed, for spaces where parking -retaining wall railing conflicts may

i. Provide bumper blocks for all parking spaces along SW parcel boundary to limit incidence of
vehicle overhang, protect existing on -site signs, protect existing or future landscaping on adjacent

j. Ensure at least 2' between face of curb for on -site parking and sidewalks within public right-of-
way (walks on Rio Road or Rt. 29 on -ramp), to ensure that customer and display vehicles do not
overhang sidewalk/s within public right-of-way. (Rev. 1) Addressed.
4. Sheet 4: Show retaining wall railing in cross section #2 since plan view label states `retaining wall with
railing.' (Rev. 1) Addressed.
5. Sheet 5: If landscape irrigation is considered, recommend show with Site Plan, sheet 3, or Landscaping
Plan, sheet 5, and install with construction to limit damage to pavement in the future. Irrigation lines
crossing expanse of asphalt need not increase calculated limits of disturbance. (Rev. 1) Addressed. `No
landscape irrigation is proposed.'
6. Sheet 7: Provide safety railing detail. (Rev. 1) Withdrawn. Applicant: `A note has been added to sheet 4
to match the existing railing on the retaining wall. This note was also acceptable to ARB.'
