Thanks for your comments on the Broader Horizons project.
Please find attached a pdf copy of the revised plat and the Soils information for Revised Lot B.
We have addressed the comments as follows:
1. Soils information for Lot B attached. Lot A2 was previously approved and is increasing in acreage with this
BLA (Revised Lot A2).
2. Upper Mechums River is not a designated Water Supply Watershed. It is a requirement to designate
whether or not the property is located within a Water Supply Watershed. Please consult with the other
planners on this.
3. The plat has been revised to show the current ownership of T.M. 73-10 as Virginia Y. Shaver.
Please review the revised plat at your earliest convenience and let us know if it is ready for signatures once we
receive VDH approval.

To follow up and clarify my comment regarding the soils.
Please provide soils evaluations for subsurface drainfields on all lots in accordance with Section 14-309. This information
must be included with the submittal of the final plat. Approval from the Health Director for onsite septic and wells is
required prior to final plat approval, in accordance with Section 14-310 and 14-416. A copy of the plat has been
submitted to the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) for review.

2. Upper Mechums River is not a designated Water Supply Watershed. It is a requirement to designate

To follow up and clarify my comment regarding the soils.
Please provide soils evaluations for subsurface drainfields on all lots in accordance with Section 14-309. This information
must be included with the submittal of the final plat. Approval from the Health Director for onsite septic and wells is
required prior to final plat approval, in accordance with Section 14-310 and 14-416. A copy of the plat has been
submitted to the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) for review.

We have addressed the comments as follows:
1. Soils information for Lot B attached. Lot A2 was previously approved and is increasing in acreage with this
BLA (Revised Lot A2).

2. Upper Mechums River is not a designated Water Supply Watershed. It is a requirement to designate
whether or not the property is located within a Water Supply Watershed. Please consult with the other
planners on this.
3. The plat has been revised to show the current ownership of T.M. 73-10 as Virginia Y. Shaver.
Please review the revised plat at your earliest convenience and let us know if it is ready for signatures once we
receive VDH approval.
