BEFORE NEWLY CONSTRUCTED CONVEYANCE CHANNELS ARE MADE OPERATIONAL, ADEQUATE OUTLET PROTECTION & ANY REQUIRED TEMPORARY OR PERMANENT CHANNEL LINING SHALL BE INSTALLED IN BOTH THE CONVEYANCE CHANNEL & RECEIVING CHANNEL. 7. A. CUT & FILL SLOPES SHALL BE DESIGNED & CONSTRUCTED IN A MANNER THAT WILL MINIMIZE EROSION. SLOPES THAT ARE FOUND TO BE ERODING EXCESSIVELY WITH ONE (1) YEAR OF PERMANENT STABILIZATION SHALL BE PROVIDED WiTH ADDITIONAL SLOPE STABILIZATION MEASURES BY THE CONTRACTOR UNTIL THE PROBLEM IS CORRECTED. B. CONCENTRATED RUNOFF SHALL NOT FLOW DOWN CUT OR FILL SLOPES UNLESS CONTAINED WITHIN AN ADEQUATE TEMPORARY OR PERMANENT CHANNEL, FLUME, OR SLOPE DRAIN STRUCTURE. 8. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL LIMIT SITE ACCESS BY CONSTRUCTION VEHICLES TO ENTRANCES PROTECTED BY A STONE CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCE (VESCH Std. & Spec. 3.02) OR AN APPROVED COMPARABLE CONTROL MEASURE. SEDIMENT SHALL BE REMOVED FROM PAVED AREAS ON A DAILY BASIS. 10. ALL TEMPORARY EROSION & SEDIMENT CONTROL MEASURES SHALL BE REMOVED WITHIN THIRTY (30) DAYS AFTER FINAL SITE STABILIZATION OR AFTER THE TEMPORARY EROSION MEASURES ARE NO LONGER NEEDED, UNLESS OTHERWISE AUTHORIZED BY THE LOCAL PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR. TRAPPED SEDIMENT & THE DISTURBED SOIL AREAS RESULTING FROM THE DISPOSITION OF TEMPORARY MEASURES SHALL BE PERMANENTLY STABILIZED TO PREVENT FURTHER EROSION & SEDIMENTATION. 11. EFFLUENT FROM DE —WATERING OPERATIONS SHALL BE FILTERED OR PASSED THROUGH AN APPROVED SEDIMENT TRAPPING DEVICE, OR BOTH & DISCHARGED IN A MANNER THAT DOES NOT ADVERSELY AFFECT ADJACENT PROPERTIES, WETLANDS, WATERWAYS OR THE STORM DRAINAGE SYSTEM. 12. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE NAME OF INDIVIDUAL HOLDING "CERTIFICATE OF COMPETENCE" ISSUED BY THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION AND RECREATION WHO WILL BE IN CHARGE OF AND RESPONSIBLE FOR CARRYING OUT THE LAND DISTURBING ACTIVITY. MAINTENANCE IN GENERAL, ALL EROSION & SEDIMENT CONTROL MEASURES SHALL BE CHECKED AFTER EACH RAINFALL OR WEEKLY, WHICHEVER IS MOST FREQUENT, & SHOULD BE CLEANED & REPAIRED ACCORDING TO THE FOLLOWING SCHEDULE. 1. THE SEDIMENT TRAPS WILL BE CHECKED REGULARLY FOR SEDIMENT CLEANOUT. 2. THE SEDIMENT BASINS WILL BE CLEANED OUT WHEN THE LEVEL OF SEDIMENT BUILDUP REACHES THE CLEANOUT POINT INDICATED ON THE RISER PIPE. 3. EROSION & SEDIMENT CONTROL MEASURES WILL BE CHECKED REGULARLY FOR UNDERMINING OR DETERIORATION & BUILDUP OR CLOGGING WITH SEDIMENT. CORRECTIVE ACTION WILL BE TAKEN IMMEDIATELY. 4. ALL SEEDED AREAS WILL BE CHECKED REGULARLY TO SEE THAT A GOOD STAND IS MAINTAINED. AREAS SHOULD BE FERTILIZED & RE —SEEDED AS NECESSARY.
