OTHER BUSINESS:
BOS Work Session: ARB Sign Guidelines Update: July 7, 2004
Staff distributed a copy of the executive summary and the proposed sign guidelines and indicated that the
item may get postponed another month. Staff will send a reminder and advise the ARB if the request gets
postponed.
Timberwood Grill: Revised elevations
It was the consensus of the Board that enough improvement had been made to the proposal (revised roof
shape, window shape, and color placement)that the applicant can go ahead and make the next
submission.
Woodbrook Shopping Center: Background Color for Wald Signs
Staff asked for additional guidance regarding the off-white background color.
It was the consensus of the Board that the background of the future signs will be off-white to coordinate
with the trim of the building on which they are installed.
Sign Refacing
Staff passed around photographs of the signs that had been erected without permits.
In consensus, the ARB confirmed that the background of the freestanding sign must be made opaque.
The ARB asked staff to check on the aggregate square footage allowable for the canopy signage and how
it would be classified. They expressed concerns about the number of signs, colors and logos used on the
canopy. Staff indicated that the request will likely come before the ARB for review.
Route 250 E. Pantops: Spooner Property
It was the consensus of the ARB based on the submitted elevations that a door would not be required on
the Entrance Corridor side of the building and that the amount of window area may be appropriate.
Next Meeting: Tuesday,July 6,2004.
ADJOURN
The meeting adjourned at 2:03 p.m.to the next meeting on July 6, 2004.
