Good morning, Cameron.
I hate to be a pest, but is it possible to get an ETA on the county signature? I know these matters take time;
however, the purchaser has surgery on Tuesday, and my clients (the sellers) are paranoid something will happen
unless I record the boundary line adjustment today.
Sorry for the trouble!

Good morning and thank you for your assistance in this matter, Cameron.
Both land owners have signed the plat, and so all that remains is a line for the County's signature. With COVID
guidelines, what is the procedure to have this signed? As soon as I have it signed and recorded, we can finally draw this
transaction to a close.
Thanks!

Cameron,
I spoke to Josh Kirtley at VDH. He indicated that if I show the existing septic tank for 780 Broomley then he would be
able to approve the plat.
I have located the septic tank and will show that on the plat.
I have addressed the other comments and will submit a revised plat tomorrow.

Josh,
We are working on a boundary line adjustment between two lots on Broomley Road in Albemarle. Both lots have
existing drainfields.
They are selling 780 Broomley and discovered that a portion of the VRGF system for 810 Broomley was installed on
their lot.
Cameron with the county says we need to get VDH approval of the drianfields for both lots since they are less than 2
acres.
Can you tell me what we have to do to get VHD approval for existing drainfields?

Hi Josh,
Thanks for working with Tim Miller on this BLA plat. The application number that the County has assigned to this is
SUB202100083.
In my first review, I asked them to submit soils reports since both lots have existing septic tanks. I wanted to make sure
that each lot would retain the septic tank and drainfields that VDH had previously approved for the houses. These are
comments #3,#4, and #7 in the attached first review comments PDF.
Let me know if you need anything else from me in order to conduct the VDH review. Thanks,

Cameron,
I spoke to Josh Kirtley at VDH. He indicated that if I show the existing septic tank for 780 Broomley then he would be
able to approve the plat.
I have located the septic tank and will show that on the plat.
I have addressed the other comments and will submit a revised plat tomorrow.

Hi Mariah, allow me to introduce myself. I am a friend of Gail Munger, as well as a bit of a busy body. Plus I've worked
with county folks for a long time and serve on the Jouett CAC. So I know the County staff stays very busy and gets pulled
in many directions. So allow me, in my simplistic goal of getting Gail Munger in a position she can close on her new
house, I have to stick my nose in this situation of a property line application. When the issue came up during an
inspection for sale, that the next door neighbor's septic tank was the property of the house Gail was buying, things got
messy. Once buyer, seller and next door neighbor all agreed to adjust the boundary line in April and it was filed with the
county. While I of course understand how hard the past year has been on County staff and that you're still
suffering from shortages, what I worry about is that Gail's closing on the home she's selling at the end of June and as of
this moment, has no idea when or where she'll be moving. The moving truck is coming to pick up her possessions on
6/24 and will have to put it all in storage and stay with friends or hotel or something, I guess if this was some more
complex issue, my patience level would be higher. But it's moving a property line a few feet which all parties agree
to. IF there is anything you can do to review and/or have staff review this application, it will make a huge difference for
Gail who's very upset, emotional and fearful over this.

Hi Gail,
Unfortunately our Division is dealing with some prolonged staffing shortages and higher
individual workloads. I will try to get to this plat as soon as possible.
IM
Please know that per State Code, the County has 60-days to provide comments on the
plat. This application (SUB202100083) was submitted to the County on April 26, 2021. In
which case 60-days would be on June 25th. It usually takes one or two revisions before
plats are deemed approvable, and of course the timing can also depend on how quickly
the surveyor is able to revise and successfully address staffs comments.

I have been trying to finalize the purchase of 780 Broomley Road since March, but an
application for a boundary line adjustment has delayed the closing.
I am going to have to close on my current home in a few weeks, at which time I will not
have a place to live.
I have been told that you are the planner to whom this case has been assigned. I don't
45
know who else to ask for assistance - I am a 71 year -old single woman and need this
resolved so that I can close on the Broomley property before I am forced to vacate my
current house.
Please advise as to how this may be expedited. Thank you so much!!

Thanks,
Mariah Gleason

I have been trying to finalize the purchase of 780 Broomley Road since March, but an
application for a boundary line adjustment has delayed the closing.
I am going to have to close on my current home in a few weeks, at which time I will not
have a place to live.
I have been told that you are the planner to whom this case has been assigned. I don't
know who else to ask for assistance - I am a 71 year -old single woman and need this
resolved so that I can close on the Broomley property before I am forced to vacate my
current house.
Please advise as to how this may be expedited. Thank you so muchH

Just spoke to Josh Kirtley.
He sent this drainfield permit for 780 Broomley. He asked us to go locate the septic tank and distribution box if they are
visible and show them on the plat.
Does anyone know if they are visible?

Josh,
We are working on a boundary line adjustment between two lots on Broomley Road in Albemarle. Both lots have
existing drainfields.
52
They are selling 780 Broomley and discovered that a portion of the VRGF system for 810 Broomley was installed on
their lot.
Cameron with the county says we need to get VDH approval of the drianfields for both lots since they are less than 2
acres.
Can you tell me what we have to do to get VHD approval for existing drainfields?

Hi John,
You are correct—VDH approval is required because the lots are under 5.0 acres in size. I understand the purpose of the
BLA is to ensure that the existing septic system is put on the correct parcel (Lot 21) and that VDH has previously
reviewed that on the 2014 septic plan. The reason that VDH approval is still required is to ensure that the parcel that is
losing acreage (Lot 17A) will still contain the drainfield locations that VDH has previously approved for the dwelling on
that parcel.
Let me know if that clarifies things, but please do not hesitate to send follow-up questions should you have any. Thanks,

Good afternoon, Cameron. This is John Ralston. I represent the owners of 780 Broomley Road.
I want to make sure that I understand. VDH approval is required simply because the lots are under 5.0 acres in
size? As Tim stated, the purpose of the boundary line adjustment is to put a septic treatment system on the
correct parcel (well, one corner of the system to be precise). Per a 2014 septic plan, the drain fields appear to be
on the other side of the lot.
Thanks!

Hi Tim,
Anytime there is a boundary line adjustment between that affects parcels that will measure less than 5 acres, VDH
approval is required (see the last page of the attached PDF).
This is true even if there are existing dwellings on the parcel(s) that have previously had septic systems/drainfield
locations approved by VDH. The reason for this is to verify that the existing drainfield locations will remain on the same
parcels as the dwelling units that they currently serve after the boundary line adjustment occurs.

Hi John,
You are correct—VDH approval is required because the lots are under 5.0 acres in size.

Thanks!

Cameron,
The purpose of this boundary adjustment is to put the existing drainfield on the correct property.
Not had to do this before so not sure of the procedure. Do I work directly with VDH to confirm the existing drainfields?

Hi Tim,
Anytime there is a boundary line adjustment between that affects parcels that will measure less than 5 acres, VDH
approval is required (see the last page of the attached PDF).
68
This is true even if there are existing dwellings on the parcel(s) that have previously had septic systems/drainfield
locations approved by VDH. The reason for this is to verify that the existing drainfield locations will remain on the same
parcels as the dwelling units that they currently serve after the boundary line adjustment occurs.
Let me know if you have any further questions.

How to Fix It
The address may be misspelled or may not exist. Try one or more of
the following:
• Send the message again following these steps: In Outlook, open this
non -delivery report (NDR) and choose Send Again from the Report
ribbon. In Outlook on the web, select this NDR, then select the link
"To send this message again, click here." Then delete and retype
the entire recipient address. If prompted with an Auto -Complete List
suggestion don't select it. After typing the complete address, click
Send.
• Contact the recipient (by phone, for example) to check that the
address exists and is correct.
• The recipient may have set up email forwarding to an incorrect
address. Ask them to check that any forwarding they've set up is
working correctly.
• Clear the recipient Auto -Complete List in Outlook or Outlook on the
web by following the steps in this article: Fix email delivery issues for
error code 5.1.1 in Office 365 and then send the message again.
Retype the entire recipient address before selecting Send.
If the problem continues, forward this message to your email admin. If
you're an email admin, refer to the More Info for Email Admins
section below.

More Info for Email Admins
Status code: 550 5.1.1
This error occurs because the sender sent a message to an email address outside of
Office 365, but the address is incorrect or doesn't exist at the destination domain. The
error is reported by the recipient domain's email server, but most often it must be fixed
by the person who sent the message. If the steps in the How to Fix It section above
don't fix the problem, and you're the email admin for the recipient, try one or more of
the following:
The email address exists and is correct - Confirm that the recipient address exists, is
correct, and is accepting messages.
Synchronize your directories - If you have a hybrid environment and are using
directory synchronization make sure the recipient's email address is synced correctly in
both Office 365 and in your on -premises directory.
Errant forwarding rule - Check for forwarding rules that aren't behaving as expected.
Forwarding can be set up by an admin via mail flow rules or mailbox forwarding address
settings, or by the recipient via the Inbox Rules feature.
Mail flow settings and MX records are not correct - Misconfigured mail flow or MX
record settings can cause this error. Check your Office 365 mail flow settings to make
sure your domain and any mail flow connectors are set up correctly. Also, work with your
domain registrar to make sure the MX records for your domain are configured correctly.
For more information and additional tips to fix this issue, see Fix email delivery issues for
error code 550 5.1.1 in Office 365.

Boundary_Line_Adjustment_P.pdf
Hi Tim,
Anytime there is a boundary line adjustment between that affects parcels that will measure less than 5 acres, VDH
approval is required (see the last page of the attached PDF).
Let me know if you have any further questions.

Cameron,
Both lots have existing houses and drainfields. Not sure why we need VDH approval of drianfields and wells

Cameron and Bill,
This seems like a fairly minor plat to review and I know that both of you are pretty speedy with this type of thing. I'm
not sure of what your workloads are but figured that I would share in case either of you has the ability to take this and
just get it done. If you don't have the capacity then that is fine, and it is what it is. I know that everyone, especially
Mariah, has a lot on their plate but this speaks to something that we have all discussed in terms of prioritizing reviews
and time management. As we move forward with training planners, I would like to emphasize a need for them all to
allocate some time each week to take care of simple applications like this so that they don't sit idle in the queue for an
extended period of time.
Thanks,

Hi Charles,
I've talked to both the property buyer and real estate agent for this property this week about the timeline. From my
conversations with them, it sounds like they are trying to close on the property soon but need this plat to be approved
to do so. I communicated that I would get to the plat as soon as possible.
I also but let them know that per State Code, the County has 60-days to provide comments on the plat. This application
(SUB202100083) was submitted to the County on April 26, 2021. In which case 60-days would be on June 25th. I shared
that it usually takes one or two revisions before plats are deemed approvable, and timing can also depend on how
quickly the surveyor is able to revise and successfully address staffs comments.
Based on the other applications and review deadlines in my queue, I anticipate getting the first round of comments on
this plat around June 21-25.
Thanks,
Mariah

Morning Charles -- Hope you're well and looking towards a great weekend. Yesterday, I got a question on
when the applicant should expect SUP202100083 to be completed. I looked on our site and saw that Mariah
has it was under review.
While I would not reach out to Mariah, thought I would ask you if you had any thoughts/insight. It's a
boundry line adjustment in a subdivision -- Flordon.
Thankyou --Julian

Hi Charles,
I've talked to both the property buyer and real estate agent for this property this week about the timeline. From my
conversations with them, it sounds like they are trying to close on the property soon but need this plat to be approved
