We have another conflict and won't be able to attend a meeting on those dates. That being said,June 27'would be the best date for us if your schedules permit. The Planning Commission meeting that was scheduled for that day is cancelled this month, so there are no staff conflicts with that date. We advise applicants to mail the adjacent property owner letters inviting them to the community meeting at least 10 days ahead of the meeting date.The letters would need to be mailed by you by this Friday,June 16th if you schedule the meeting for June 27th. Please let me know if you and Chris have had a chance to discuss the community meeting yet, and if June 27th works for you. Otherwise, we may have to push the meeting date back to sometime in July.This shouldn't cause a delay in the processing of the application, but when we send out our first round of comments on June 30,there will be a comment saying that the community meeting requirements still needs to be satisfied. (I have provided community meeting guidelines in case you do not have yours handy.)Typically, the community meeting is held at the next Community Advisory Committee (CAC) meeting for the neighborhood where the project is located. I spoke with the Places 29-Rio CAC chair, Virginia Roy, and the June 22nd CAC meeting schedule is full. Because the community meeting cannot be held with the CAC,you will need to set up a different date,time, and location for this community meeting. You should coordinate the date and time with your Board of Supervisor and 4 Planning Commission representatives so that they may be present if they wish to be at the community meeting. I will also need to attend, so please keep me in the loop. As to location,you may want to consider holding the community at your church. I have copied Brad Sheffield and Bruce Dotson on this email so they are aware that you will be in touch soon. As required by Albemarle County Code, Section 33.4.J of the Zoning Ordinance, we have scheduled a community meeting for the Special Use Permit referenced above. We are proposing to demolish the existing church building and construct a new two-story church building, with an expansion of the existing parking lot. The purposes of the community meeting is to: (i)provide interested members of the public the opportunity to receive information about the proposed project, the applicable procedures, the policies of the Comprehensive plan, other relevant policies, and regulations applicable to the proposed project; and (ii) to allow the public to ask questions about the proposed project. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 27th, 2017 at 7:00pm at City Church located at 1010 Rio Road East, Albemarle County,Virginia 22901. The application fees were paid by City Church on May 30, 2017 activating the Special Permit review process.
