Design Focused Engineering July 7, 2021 Andy Reitelbach County of Albemarle Department of Community Development 401 McIntire Road, North Wing Charlottesville, Virginia 22902 RE: Response Letter #1 for SP2021-00011 Field School of Charlottesville Dear Andy, Thank you for your review of the special use permit amendment for Field School of Charlottesville. This letter contains responses to County comments dated July 2, 2021.Our responses are as follows: 1. Include the application file number that was given to this application, SP2021-00011, on the concept plan and in the project narrative. RESPONSE: The County file number has been added to the concept plan and the project narrative. 2. Include on the cover sheet of the narrative that a Water Protection Ordinance (WPO) stream buffer is located on this site. RESPONSE: Comment received. This designation has been added to the narrative. 3. The project narrative references minor revisions to labels on the concept plan to reflect changes resulting from the recordation of the BLA plat with the adjacent Malasek property. Identify in the narrative what these changes are and which labels have been revised for staffs review. It would also be helpful for staffs review (and the PC's) to have a red-line/cloud version of the concept plan provided for easy identification of the changes. RESPONSE: Comment received. A brief summary of changes has been added to the narrative. The submission additionally includes a revision cloud PDF of the special use permit concept plan and exhibits, which calls out changes that incorporate the BLA plat as well as SP2019-12 information. 4. Conditions for this special use permit have not been confirmed by staff at this time, however, they will likely all remain the same, except for the elimination of condition #9, as requested with this application, and the revision of condition # 1 to reference the most recent concept plan. RESPONSE: Comment received. We will look out for staff communication finalizing conditions for this special use permit prior to the Planning Commission public hearing. 5. Advisory Comment: Please be advised that site plans and VSMP plans will be required at the site development stage if this special use permit is approved by the Board. Advisory Comment: Community meetings are usually required to be held for Special Use Permit applications. Please see the attached letter from Charles Rapp, the Director of Planning, for information regarding the community meeting for this application. RESPONSE: Comment received.
