VIRGINIA 22901•a596 V"tl+,:( (f�i •iC v,fO(ki (goa) 295•5832 • TO: Ron Keeler, Planning Department FROM: Larry Maeyens, Fire Prevention Officer c; ("v"'''�� DATE: February 10, 1986 SUBJECT: Earlysville Forest Firefighting water supply A complete review and study of the availability of water for firefighting purposes has been conducted by the Inspections Department in conjunction with the Earlysville Volunteer Fire Department. Our study indicated that the present water situation at Earlysville Forest subdivision is totally inadequate. We cr,;.1 feel that before any further construction is undertaken in Earlysville Forest an adequate water supply needs to be established. Mr. Dailey Craig, the developer of Earlysville Forest has been informed of our conclusion and has indicated his concurrence with our findings . • All parties agree that the best solution is to install a hydrant on Earlysville Forest Drive adjacent- to Lake #1 . This hydrant would be attached to a pump at the lake. The pump must be able to supply 500 G.P.M. at the hydrant. The pump would be activated with a key at the hydrant on Earlysville Forest Drive. Once this hydrant is installed, we would have no problem in allowing Mr. Craig to continue developing Earlysville Forest. LM/kdg
