Significance Statement: One of a number of motels built in the twentieth century along Route 250 on either side of Charlottesville,
the Siesta Motor Court opened in 1951-1952. The motel restaurant is slightly later. This is an excellent
example of adaptive re -use. When the motel closed in 1992, the building was rehabilitated as a shopping
center, thereby preserving the streetscape along this stretch of 250 in Ivy.
