Every other unit has a pedimented portico, double -door entrance and 6/6 sash. The original motel office is a 1 -story, 3 -bay gable -roofed brick building with a front entrance on the south and 6/6 sash windows. Duner's Restaurant was built slightly later and is a one-story brick building with wide overhanging eaves and large plateglass windows. S- The New Dominion (1941- Present) DHR Id#: 002-1180 Significance Statement: One of a number of motels built in the twentieth century along Route 250 on either side of Charlottesville, the Siesta Motor Court opened in 1951-1952. The motel restaurant is slightly later. This is an excellent example of adaptive re -use. When the motel closed in 1992, the building was rehabilitated as a shopping center, thereby preserving the streetscape along this stretch of 250 in Ivy.
