Dear Mr. Anderson:
The Department of Transportation, Charlottesville Residency Transportation and Land Use
Section, has reviewed the above referenced plan as prepared by RK&K, dated 9 June 2021, and
offers the following comments:
1. Based on the plans, there is no intention for VDOT to assume ownership or any
maintenance responsibility for Worrell Drive. Please confirm this is the case.
2. Drawings signed -and -sealed by a Professional Engineer verifying the structural and
hydraulic capacity of the drop inlet to accept additional ty-ins will be required before a
permit is issued.
3. Video inspection of the existing stormwater pipe will be required to confirm its condition
before tying -in private lines.
4. Note that the final plan must show conformance with the VDOT Road Design Manual
Appendices B(1) and F, as well as any other applicable standards, regulations or other
requirements.
Please provide a digital copy in PDF format of the revised plan along with a comment response

A VDOT Land Use Permit will be required prior to any work within the right-of-way. The
owner/developer must contact the Charlottesville Residency Transportation and Land Use
Section at (434) 422-9399 for information pertaining to this process.
