Regarding: SDP 201700070 HTC Hotel—Comfort Inn—Final Site Plan
Dear Ms. Maliszewski,
Thank you for your ARB review of the final site plan for HTC Hotel. We have:reviewed and revised the plan
per your most recent comments dated November 8, 2018. See below for detailed responses to each of your
comments.
In reference to Paty Saternye's letter of August 3, 2018:
1. Provide an offsite planting easement to meet the EC landscape requirements.
Included is the Deed Of Easement with the adjacent parcel (T.M. 32-41D6), which covers all
improvements including landscape. Also please note that the location of the 6 plantings would not be
visible from the EC(Seminole Trail)as they are on the far northwestern side of the building.
2. The landscape quantities do not appear to be correct. Ensure that all quantities are shown correctly.
There are 43 sweetspire on the plan and 38 in the schedule.
After previous updates to the end of the building, the final count of sweetspire is 42.This is reflected
on the Landscape Schedule. If there is any confusion or discrepancies on the Landscape Schedule
please contact me(434.227.5140).
In reference to the requirements outlined by the ARB on October 15,2018:
1. The architectural elevations show brick added to the sides of the new parking area, and a window in the
front elevation. However, the floor plan shows piers at the first floor— no wall at the sides. Revise the
floor plan to be consistent with the elevations by showing the brick side wall(s)and the added window.
Architect has provide floor plans that have implemented wall as seen in elevation.

2. The depth of the brick beam does not appear to have changed. Increase the depth of the beam. Provide
information (i.e., a marked-up sketch, etc.)to clarify the change that has been made.
Architect has increased the thickness/depth of the brick beam to be a more substantive architectural
element.
If you have any questions or concerns about these revisions please feel free to call me at(434)227-5140 or
email Peter Russell at peter@shimp-engineering.com and we can discuss any questions that you may have in
further detail.
