Mr. Tucker said that the study is not as detailed as the current study,
and it has to be blown up to meet the scale of the Real Estate maps.
Mr. Keeler pointed out that the SCS used different determining criteria
in 1932 than the criteria being used now.
Col. Washington further pointed out that those land owners using the
"land use taxation" should not feel penalized by a designation of AF.
Mr. McCann proposed that the "land use map" should be used for determining
zones over the entire county.
Col. Washington concluded the discussion by advising the staff to use
any available information acknowledging that more data is available for some parts
of the county than others. When the updated information becomes available the
map can be amended.
Mr. Tucker said that the more recent soil information is for the northern
and western parts of the County.
The Commission then discussed the proper way to inform the Board that
it will or will not notify adjoining property owners of the revised zoning.
The Commission reached a consensus to inform the Board that the Commission
does not see the utility in notifying individual property owners by mail of the
proposed zoning at the 'ievel of Commission review, the staff will prepare a detailed
map prior to the public hearing and have it available at the Commission public hearing,
photographic copies of the map will be available for purchase by the public, and
the staff will prepare a general map suitable for newspaper publication prior to the
Commission's public hearing.
