Mr. Bush stated he had written the servicemen in answer to their requests for assistance, and had also received replies from his inquiries about the different courses offered by the State Universities and Colleges. He also stated that Mr. Peterson of the Chambers of Commerce had received a letter from Mr. Bradford of the State Planning Commission stressing the importance of having job survey. After discussion of this subject, it was decided that in this particular area, there was no immediate necessity for the job survey, and that at this point, it would simply be a waste of man power. Mr. Warwich reported that at the present time, most of the returning servicemen are obtaining jobs through the War Manpower Commission. Mr. Graham and Dr. Langford were presented to the board, and Mr. Graham proceeded to give us an informal outline of the Proposed School Offering. This-6ffer_ing was discussed in detail, and while the board agreed with most of the plans suggested, Mr. Haden felt the estimated cost of the new buildings should be carefully checked, so enough money would be available, should this plan be accepted. It was decided that the Board could not take any action on this proposed plan until the School Board had approved it, and after hat time,.we would invite -the School Board to meet with us, and recommend that the present Offering or a similar one, be approved, and plans made to put it into effect as soon as money was available. As bonds would have to be sold to secure the money for this project, and right now is a good time to sell bonds, it was suggested that the election should be held within the next twelve months. Before these bonds could be passad,,on,it was felt it would be necessary to educate the public to the necessity for the new school system, as many people would be opposed to anything that would raise their taxes, especially the people who do not have children to attend these schools. Mr. Randolph expressed the appreciation of the board to Mr. Graham and Dr. Langford, and asked them to keep us informed about the Proposed Offering so we would know how and when to proceed. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. Secretary.
