Dear Mr Edwards:
As per our review of the revised plans dated December 19, 2002 and Sheet#3 received
January 3, 2003 for the above referenced project, all of the outstanding conditions of
ARB approval as outlined in our letter dated December 6, 2002 have been addressed.
You may consider this letter your Certificate of Appropriateness.
This approval is predicated on the fact that the design and materials, as proposed and
exhibited for review, will be used. The acceptance of approval implies that the applicant
has agreed to execute the design as indicated on the site plan, attachments, materials,
samples, and other submittal items presented. Any changes in the approved design or
materials will require an amendment to the plan and must be reviewed and approved by
the Architectural Review Board.

Dear Stephen:
Our office has received and addressed the additional review comments from the,Engineering Department,VDOT,and the
ARB for the above referenced project.There were no comments from Fire&Rescue,Building Code or Zoning. Our
responses to each of the recent agency comments are as follows:
ARB: (Margaret Maliszewski comments dated December 6,2002)
1 An 8'privacy fence was added between the side of the apartments and the sidewalk to screen the meters in
question.
Planning: (Stephen Waller comments dated November 27,2002)
1 All comments from the ARB.have been addressed to date.
2. Note#19 on Sheet 9 has been added to indicate that a tree arborist will provide aeration to the two existing oak
trees prior to,and if necessary during and following,construction.
3. Done.
Engineering Department: (Jeff Thomas comments dated December 4,2002)
1. All previous comments have been addressed.
2. VDOT comments are addressed under a separate heading.
3. The retaining wall detail on Sheet 13 has been re-labeled for clarity

1. Please find the attached 2 sets of E&SC Plans and E&SC Narrative as requested.
VDOT: (Jim Kesterson comments dated November 26,2002)
2. The entrance and handicap ramps on Sheet 3 are now labeled correctly as Std.CG-13 and Std.CG-12,
respectively.
3. The DI-2B in question is now proposed to have 1)a solid top,2)to be paved over,and 3)to have Std.IS-1 inlet
shaping.
We trust that this addresses all of the County's concerns for the Final Site Development Plan.Revision clouds were added to
the plans to ease your review. Provided there are no further Staff comments,we respectively request that Staff consider
granting us tentative approval.If you have any questions or require additional information,please do not hesitate to contact
me.
