As per email correspondence with Albemarle County Staff, the RWSA proposes a Letter of Revision to the site plan SDP #201500045, project title Moores Creek Advanced Water Resource Recovery Facility Odor Control Improvements. This letter serves as the request letter describing proposed changes to the site plan SDP #201500045. Proposed Improvements To provide ample fuel storage for the existing standby power generator at the MCWRRF, an 8,000-gallon auxiliary fuel storage tank will be added. The new 28'-3" x 7'-2" auxiliary fuel storage tank will be located 12-feet east of the existing generator pad and will be anchored to a 34'-3" x 15'-7" concrete structural slab. There will be a 3-foot sidewalk around all sides of the structural slab. Natural slopes will tie into the sidewalk on all sides. The south side of the fuel tank will be protected by 3 concrete bollards spaced at 6- feet on center. A pole mounted LED area luminaire will be added on the north side of the existing generator to provide light for nighttime fueling visibility. Included with this letter are detailed drawings for the fuel tank addition and a photometric analysis providing fixture details and detailing the lighting impacts. Compliance The addition of one LED area luminaire meets the guidelines set forth by the Albemarle County Architectural Review Board. The light is a 20-foot pole mounted fixture and will be shielded, full cutoff, and emit warm white light. Concluding Remarks Through email correspondence with Ms. Margaret Maliszewski of the Community Development Department on July 19, 2021, it was indicated that this project could be brought to the County through a letter of revision to the site plan SDP #201500045. A copy of the email correspondence is enclosed with this letter. See the attached plan sheets for a proposed fuel tank at the RWSA's Moores Creek AWWRF. We are looking to add a small fuel tank next to an existing generator. Does this work need a LOR? We are looking at a small concrete pad, the tank, and a switched LED light fixture (downward facing full cutoff).
