Dear Mr. Reitelbach:
The Department of Transportation, Charlottesville Residency Transportation and Land Use
Section, has reviewed the above referenced plan as submitted by Kirk Hughes & Associates,
dated 9 October 2018, and find it to be generally acceptable.
A VDOT Land Use Permit will be required prior to any work within the right-of-way. The
owner/developer must contact the Charlottesville Residency Transportation and Land Use
Section at (434) 422-9399 for information pertaining to this process. If further information is
desired please contact Justin Deel at (434) 422-9894.

Remarks: Please review the attached easement plat for compliance with County and/or state code
and VDOT standards, as well as any other VDOT concerns there may be. The plat is proposing new
drainage and utility easements, to be dedicated to the public and ACSA, at the 5th Street Station
shopping center, and these easements are proposed to cross right-of-way that either has already been
dedicated to VDOT or will be dedicated to VDOT in the future.
