Design Focused Engineering September 9, 2021 Adam Moore Virginia Department of Transportation 701 Vdot Way Charlottesville, VA 22911 RE: Response Letter 41 for SUB2021-00124 Proffit Road Townhomes South — Road Plan Dear Adam, Thank you for your review of the road plan for Proffit Road Townhomes South. This letter contains responses to VDOT comments dated August 9, 2021.Our responses are as follows: 1. Entrance roads appear askew from North and South entrances and proposed entrance should line up better with existing entrance to the North. RESPONSE: Comment received. Auto -turn analyses have been provided for opposing left turns leaving the Profit Road Townhomes North and South, ensuring that no conflicts would occur with the slightly askew entrances. 2. CG-6 and CG-7 should have a minimum 10' transition taper to grade on the terminal ends for snow removal and highway maintenance. RESPONSE: Comment received. A note requiring this 10' transition taper has been added to the site/road plan. 3. Curb and gutter should extend to property lines for future connections. RESPONSE: Comment received. Please see the revised plan. 4. Shared use path should extend to property lines for future connections. RESPONSE: Comment received. Please see the revised plan. 5. Turn lane warrants are required and if previously approved will be added to the plan submittal. RESPONSE: Turn lane warrants are now provided on C17. 6. Sanitary sewer line should be shown on private road A. RESPONSE: Comment received. Please see the revised utility plan.
