RE: Board Actions - - November 16 , 1983
The Board at its meeting on November 16 , 1983, acted on the
following:
1) Appeal: Cason Fruit/Vegetable Specialty Store Site Plan.
DEFERRED to December 14, 1983, at 10 : 00 A.M. in Meeting Room #7 .
2) SP-83-71. Dallas F. Gentry. APPROVED request to locate a public
garage on 5. 0 acres zoned RA, located west side of- Route 631. with -
the following conditions :
1. The public garage use shall be limited to the repairing
and equipping of vehicles . No bodywork or spray-
painting of vehicles shall be permitted. No gasoline _
sales or sale or rental of vehicles shall be permitted;
2. All work shall be conducted within the garage;
3. . No outside storage of parts including junk parts and
junk cars . Refuse awaiting disposal shall be stored in
appropriate containers;
4. No more than four vehicles awaiting repair shall
be parked on the property outdoors at any time;
5 . Fire and Building Official approval;
6 . Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation
approval of commercial entrance;
7 . No operation until site plan approval has been obtained
and improvements completed or bonded. Site plan to
include buffering/screening as deemed appropriate by
the Planning Commission. Conditions #5 and #6 shall be
met prior to Commission review of the site plan;
8 . Hours of operation shall be limited from 7 :00 a.m. to
5 :00 p.m. and no operation of the garage on Sunday.
9 . Operation is limited to the existing garage building.
3) SP-83-77. Willis J. or Margaret M. Martin. DENIED request to
locate a public garage on 1. 3 acres zoned RA, located south side
of private easement- west of Route 20 South.

4 ) Appeal: Maynard Wood, Jr. , Preliminary Plat . The Board granted
the applicant ' s request by waiving conditions A and B as recommended
by the Plannning Commission, and modifying condition C to read :
County Attorney approval of road maintenance agreement applicable
to parcel 1A, the new parcel to be divided, and parcel 1C on Tax
Map 102 ; and that the applicant waives further development rights
on the balance of parcel 1C and parcel 1A; and this to be noted
on the plat to be put to record.
5 ) ZMA-83-14. Lucille Tirrell. APPROVED request to rezone 5 . 0
acres from LI to RA, located off private easement road east of
Route 606. (Tax Map 32, Parcels 9E and 9D)
6) ZMA-83-16 . Ruth Morris . APPROVED request to rezone 2 . 30 acres
from LI to RA, located private easement east of Route 606 .

7 ) ZMA-83-15 . Gleco Mills , Inc . DEFERRED to December 21, 1983, at
applicant ' s request .
8 ) Vacation: Ashmere Subdivision. DEFERRED to January 11, 1984
�•:ith -a report due -at that time as to the status of road construction.
--9 ) ZTA-63-3. ADOPTED amendment to- Section 4.12 . 6. 5(e ) of the Zoning -
Ordinance relative to handicapped parking as per the attached.
10) ZTA-83-6. ADOPTED amendment to Section 5 . 6 . 1. 1(d) of the Zoning
Ordinance relative to notification on mobile home application as
per the attached.
11) The Board has tentatively scheduled the January 4, 1984 regular
meeting for 1 : 00 P.M. instead of 7 : 30 P .M. and will reorganize
only . A meeting is also tentatively scheduled for January 18 ,
1984 , at 4 : 00 P .M. , with the Planning Commission. Please mark
your calendars .
