Dear Mr. Mailloux:
This letter is to inform you that your variance application,VA-97-10, was heard during the public
hearing by the Albemarle County Board of Zoning Appeals on Tuesday, August 5, 1997. The Board
(5:0) approved the request with the conditions recommended by staff. This variance approval grants
relief from Section 4.1.6 of the Albemarle County Zoning Ordinance to reduce the requirement for
septic drainfield from 100%reserve to 66%reserve to allow construction of a new 3 bedroom house.
The conditions of approval are as follows:
1. The house shall contain three or fewer bedrooms unless and until it meets the County's
requirements for sewage disposal for more bedrooms.
2. Prior to the issuance of a building permit, the owner shall cause to be recorded a note in the
chain of title which puts future owners on notice that there is only a 66% reserve septic
disposal field available and the house is restricted as stated in#1 above.
