Dear Mr. & Mrs. Robertson:
This letter is to inform you that your variance application, VA-97-19, was heard during the public
hearing by the Albemarle County Board of Zoning Appeals on Tuesday, December 2, 1997. The
Board unanimously (5:0) approved the variance request with the following conditions:
1) This variance is for the garage using the existing foundation requested on building permit
# 97-1508 NNR only. Any further additions or new construction will require a separate variance
application.
2) The Department of Engineering's Run Off Control alternative agreement with the piping of
downspouts to seepage trenches be required
3) Any other accessory building is prohibited on the site.
This variance approval allows relief from Sections 10.4 and 4.2.1 of the Albemarle County Zoning
Ordinance to reduce the front yard setback from 75 feet to 40 feet, and to reduce the 200-foot
setback from the 100-year floodplain of the reservoir to 135 feet, thus allowing the use of an
existing foundation for a garage.
