Union Run Baptist Church (applicant). Located on the E. side of Rt. 731 at its inters. with Rt. 250 E.
of Shadwell. TM 79 Parcel 24A is zoned RA, Rural Areas. Requests a special use permit for an off-
site freestanding sign for the church. Requests variance to reduce the sign setback from 10 feet to
one foot to allow the sign to be visible from Rt. 250.1g1r1

JUSTIFICATION SHALL BE BASED ON THESE THREE (3) CRITERIA:
1) That the strict application of this ordinance would produce
undue hardship.

in the same zoning district and the same vicinity.

THIS,SIGN WILL BE ON WHITE BACKGROUND WITH BLACK LETTERING. IT WILL EASILY
ENHANCE THE INTERSECTION AT RTE.250 EAST AND WEST AND ROUTE 731. ALL
GUIDELINES FROM THE ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW BOARD WILL BE FOLLOWED. IT WILL
BE COMPATIABLE TO ALL OTHER SIGNS IN THE AREA A PROFESSIONAL SIGN MAKER
WILL DESIGN,MAKE AND INSTALL THE SIGN TO ALL SPECIFACTIONS.
WRITTEN JUSTIFICATION :
THE SIGN SHOULD BE VISIBLE FROM RTE 250 EAST AND WEST. IF IT IS SET BACK(10)TEN
FEET IT WILL NOT BE SEEN. THIS AREA IS SURROUNDED BY THICK FOLIAGE IN SUMMER
AND SPRING WHEN TREES ARE THE GREENEST THE SIGN WILL NOT BE VISIBLE.
THEREFORE, ONE FOOT SET BACK WILL WORK VERY WELL,THE GOAL WILL BE
ACCOMPLISHED FOR THE MOTORING PUBLIC WHO MAKE RIGHT AND LEFT TURNS AT
ABOVE SAID LOCATION.
