While I do not challenge her ostensible motivation for the request, there are several reasonable, and perhaps more practical, alternatives within the existing code. Humphries could add a detached or semi-detached apartment to the existing dwelling;she could replace an existing building with a garage apartment;or she could build on the beautiful acreage behind her home.Adding a residential dwelling as proposed, however, could detract from the rural atmosphere of the road as it alters perception of density. It could also be construed as a ploy to circumvent building density restrictions. I hope Zoning will evaluate the construction for longterm, and alternative, use if built. My second concern regards how this might affect future pavement of Clark Road.It is my understanding, that Humphries was the principle objector to a previous effort to pave Clark Road. The objection then being based on the affect such an action might have on the rural atmosphere of the area. Placing additional buildings within the Clark Road right of way or easement, will further restrict engineers when the road is inevitably paved. The road cannot be paved without being widened;particularly at the point of the proposed dwelling. Some of Humphries' land should be necessary, but that alternative might further reinforce her self-interest for again opposing paving. Thank you for your consideration of this matter.
