Pohl, PE, CFM County Engineer Albemarle County fpohlaial bema rle. org 434-296-5832 x7914 401 McIntire Road, North Wing, Charlottesville, VA 22902 From: Kenny Thacker <kthacker3@albemarle.org> Sent: Monday, August 2, 20214:33 PM To: Frank Pohl <fpohl@albemarle.org> Subject: CSS Basin Conversation Frank, This project is not ready for release. The following items need to be completed: 1. Stabilize disturbed slopes. ALWAYS THE PLAN - WILL BE DONE 2. Install silt fence along toe of slopes until area is stabilized.UNDERSTAND NEEDED UNTIL STABILIZED. 3. Once slopes are stabilized removed slope drain, unless plan is changed to leave slope drain in place. ACTUALLY WPO201S-0036 SHOWS THE SLOPE DRAINS AND ARE NEEDED SHOULD THAT BE UNDERTAKEN. I DON'T KNOW WHEN THAT WOULD BE BUT THE SLOPE DRAINS CAUSE NO ISSUE TO REMAIN AND ARE SHOWN ON AN APPROVED PLAN. APPROVAL EMAIL & SHEET FROM THAT PLAN IS ATTACHED. 4. Metal screen on riser structure and on top of riser within riser structure are not attached or secured to the structure. RISER TOP GRATE WEIGHT HOLDS IT IN PLACE - REMOVED IT WITH A BACKHOE FOR SURVEYOR. SINCE THIS STRUCTURE IS INSIDE A FENCED FACILITY WITH A MANAGER LIVING ON SITE WITH DIRECT VIEW OF THE STRUCTURE - SHOULD THERE BE A PROBLEM WITH THE TOP GRATE - IT WILL BE ADDRESSED. THE STRUCTURE IS ACTUALLY A HOUSING FOR THE STANDPIPE (GLEN BROOKS REQUIREMENT). THE WATER GOES OVER DAM BEFORE IT REACHES THE GRATE. THIS IS TO ASK THAT GRATE STAY AS IS. THE INSIDE SCREEN WILL BE SECURED. 5. Bottom of riser structure should be shaped to allow for proper drainage and not allow water to pond in structure. BASE WILL BE MUDDED TO DOME THE BOTTOM TO PREVENT PONDING- WE DON'T WANT A MOSQUITO BREEDING PROBLEM. THANKS FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE. JO HIGGINS Other items are as shown on plan. 4 Aug 2,'z 38.0 1501 Avon 2 3: a> >, M a r -0 c c -. C ai O a O 4) NCOW 04 N f0 Co NpZ0 v E ' O N CNO c Q (V c0 Oj Q O LO IMmpk,.
