RE: Board of Zoning Appeals Action For Rehearing
VA-98-30 — Tax Map 62, Parcel 92
Dear Mr. Buchanan:
This letter is to inform you that your variance application, VA-98-30, was reheard by the
Albemarle County Board of Zoning Appeals on March 2, 1999. The Board ruled (4:1) to
approve your request to reduce the side setback from 25 feet to 8 feet to allow the
addition of an attached garage to the existing dwelling with the following conditions:
1. The variance is for an attached garage, not wider than 32 feet, and no closer
than 8 feet feet from the property line.
2. The garage shall not be converted or used for habitation or living purposes.
This approval allows relief from Section 10.4 of the Zoning Ordinance to allow the
addition of a 3-car garage to the existing dwelling to be located 8 feet to the side
property line, a variance of 17 feet.
