Dear property owner:
This letter is to notify you as an adjoining property owner to above listed property that a special exception
application has been submitted to reduce the required 125-foot setback from the northeast and
southwestern side property lines for a homestay use. The homestay would occur in the existing dwelling
on the property.

This petition will be reviewed at the ALBEMARLE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
MEETING ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 1, 2021. Please be advised that due to the Covid-19
pandemic and efforts to maintain recommended social distancing, this will be a virtual meeting of the
Board of Supervisors.
Special exceptions must be acted on by the Board of Supervisors, and may be granted after notice to
abutting property owners and upon consideration of the following:
i. There is no detriment to any abutting lot
ii. There is no harm to public health, safety, or welfare
If you have comments or concerns regarding this application, please provide them to Lea Brumfield by
TUESDAY, AUGUST 10, 2021 so that they can be included in the Board's information packet and so
the item can be scheduled appropriately for the Board's consideration. Homestay special exceptions may
be scheduled on the Board's agenda in one of two ways:
1. If no neighbor concerns are received, the item will be placed on the Consent Agenda for approval.
There is no staff presentation or Board discussion prior to Board approval for Consent Agenda
Items.
2. If neighbor concerns are received, the item will be listed as an Action item on the agenda.
