Ms. Jan Sprinkle
County of Albemarle
Department of Building Code and Zoning Services
401 McIntire Road, Room 227
Charlottesville VA 22902-4596
Dear Ms. Jan Sprinkle:
! have been a resident of the Westover Hills neighborhood since 1972, and live at parcel
1-14. The owners of the adjoining property, 1-15, are requesting relief from Section
4.1.6 of the zoning ordinance to reduce the requirement for drainfields from 100%
primary and reserve to 100% primary and 50% reserve to allow a new house to be
constructed.
I am strongly opposed to the possibility of this land being developed for various reasons.
My main objection is the concern of well problems that may affect me directly. Our
neighborhood has a history of well contamination and reduced water supply due to new
construction. Recently two neighbors on Westover Drive have needed to have their wells
replaced due to decreased water supply. I am very concerned that my welt may be
affected if there is a new well dug in the lot adjacent to mine.
I enjoy the wooded scenery and quietness of this beautiful neighborhood and am saddened
to see that trees have been removed in the lot next to me, with the possibility of new
construction. I hope you will consider these items when you hold your public hearing on
March 7.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Frances Bauer
