Description of Request:
Requesting a variance of the front and side yard setback requirements in order to install a
fort worth pole within an existing Virginia Power transmission tower and locate up to six (6)
panel antennas above the existing 120 foot steel tower.
Justification:
1) This is an existing tower structure that already violates the front and side yard
requirements. The proposed additions will be no closer to the property lines than
the existing tower structure. Strict application of the Ordinance would produce
undue hardship because the existing tower would have to be relocated on the
property or a new tower would have to be constructed.
2) It is our understanding that this hardship is not shared generally by other
properties in the same zoning district or in the same vicinity.
3) This is an existing tower structure; therefore, we do not feel that the additional
equipment proposed to be located within and on the existing structure will not be a
further detriment to the adjacent property or will it further change the character
of the district.
