Attach the owner's written consent. 11/2010 Page 2 of 2 OVER—+ April 26, 2021 Re• Crozet Animal Wellness Center ARB Submission Project Description Two-story, approximately 6,000sf addition to an existing single-story Veterinary Clinic to allow for expansion to accommodate business growth on an existing 3.485 acre lot located south of downtown Crozet on Crozet Avenue. The building's location on the site places it approximately 250 feet from the street The building is divided into two masses The larger mass of the two defines the main entry and serves as a focal point for clientele. A covered porch is included at the main entry to allow for clients to remain outside with their animals when the weather allows. The other mass contains more functional space and the design is more muted again to direct clientele toward the main entry The surrounding properties are primarily residential in nature—mostly two story structures placed a similar distance from the street as the animal clinic. As the building houses a commercial business operation, the approach regarding Exterior materials was to find a hybrid design that would identify it as a commercial structure, while using materials and massing that would be similar to the nearby residences To that extent a brick wainscot is incorporated, topped with a cast stone cap Board and Batten siding is then incorporated on the upper story. Windows are fixed casements.
