Re: Boar's Head Sports Club Squash Expansion
Dear Alan:
We have reviewed the plans entitled "Boar's Head Sports Club Major Site Plan
Amendment (SDP #200500036)" dated December 15, 2011. The following comments
need to be addressed:
Sheet 1
1. Place a P.E. stamp on all sheets; original stamp and signature on the first sheet.
2. Provide water data sheet.
3. It would be helpful to add "Squash Expansion" to the project title to distinguish
from earlier projects involved the Boar's Head Sports Club.
4. The existing sanitary sewer main shown on the plans is owned and operated by
the Rivanna Water and Sewer Authority and their approval is required for this
connection.
5. Reference should be made to the latest edition of the ACSA Construction
Specifications.
6. The ACSA will require the dedication of the Boar's Head Tennis Expansion
Project prior to plan approval. Although our office has never received as-builts
for this project, we will only require a Letter of Dedication since a majority of this
line will be removed with the construction of this project.
7. The ACSA will require the dedication of the Boar's Head Inn Meeting Pavilion
Project prior to plan approval. Our records indicate that the following items still
need to be addressed:
a. As -Built Drawings (Our office commented to the consultant on May 7,
2009 requesting three changes; we have not received revised as-builts)
b. Letter of Dedication (I can prepare this for execution once as-builts have
been approved)
Sheet 2
1. Revise pipe materials based on RWSA comments.
Sheet 4

2. All sanitary sewer lines for this project shall be privately owned and maintained.
3: Provide fixture counts to size new water meter.
4. County Fire Marshall must provide approval for combining fire sprinkler systems.
5. Compare fire flow results with an 8 -inch diameter water main.
6. Provide 2 -inch diameter big nut valves on both of the water service laterals.
7. Label the meter to the north as serving the Tennis Center.
Sheet 5
1. A test dig needs to be completed to verify the diameter of the existing water
main. The previously approved plans show this water main as an 8 -inch
diameter pipe.
2. The connection shown to the existing water main will eliminate water service to
the Tennis Center during the course of construction. Is this acceptable or do we
need to design an alternative that will maintain water service during construction?
3. Relocate retaining wall outside of the water main easement.
Sheet 6
1. Show water main crossings on storm sewer profiles.
Sheet 11
1. Adjust landscaping plan to accommodate water meter vaults.
