ESFR Sprinkler System — Wet Type Automatic Fire Sprinkler System Only. NFPA-13 design: 25.2K ESFR Sprinklers in Control Mode with a minimum application rate of 15 psi per sprinkler (4 sprinklers on each of 3 branch lines) with tire storage up to 25-fit in a 30-ft maximum building height & 250 gpm hose stream allowance. • Building ambient temperatures must be maintained at 40-degrees Fahrenheit minimum 24/D365. • System piping shall be within the heated and insulated building envelope (Arch to coordinate). • Minimum distances from sprinkler deflectors shall be: 36-inch vertical distance to top of storage, 6-inch vertical distance to deck and 12-inch horizontal distance to open -truss structural members. Lights, ducts, roof penetrations & equipment shall be centered between sprinklers & branch lines. B. Overhead & In -Rack Sprinkler System. Wet / Dry Type Automatic Fire Sprinkler System. Use of this NFPA-13 system requires written AHJ mandate via specific Ordinance as well as approval by DTC/ATC Project Manager prior to implementation. Use of this type system should only occur when AID will NOT allow the use of ESFR sprinklers as allowed by NFPA-13 and preferred by DT/AT. C. FM 8-3 Sprinkler System. Wet Type System. A checkmark here indicates that the water supply is NOT capable of meeting aforementioned NFPA-13 Design Standard Options "A" or B" above. Use of this system requires written AHJ approval indicating acceptance of FM Design Guides & Data Sheets. Design is based on Factory Mutual Data Sheet 8-3 (January 2009 Edition). FM8-3 Design:.30 gpm/sf, 2,300 area of operation with tire storage to 30-fit & 8 simultaneously operating 5.6K or 8.OK in -rack sprinklers at 30 glint each & 500 gpm hose stream allowance. Approval by DTC/ATC Project Manager is required! D. Fire pump Unit - Required based on the water supply data available at this time. A checkmark here indicates the water supply is NOT capable of meeting aforementioned NFPA-13 Design Standard Options "A" or `B" or "C". Water supply to the pump is from a public supply and adequate per NFPA-20 to avoid pump cavitation. E. Water Storage Tank AND Fire Pump Unit - Required based on the water supply data available at this time, A checkmark here indicates the water supply is NOT capable of meeting minimum GPM requirements for a fire pump (NFPA-20) and only the RAW DATA (without a safety factor) meets the minimun Fire Flow (NFPA, IFC Appendix B or similar). The project Civil Engineer shall make the final determination on the water stomge/break tank location, design and final sizing. E J Engineering Grouo.
