The intended use requiring this variance is to provide an Accessory Apartment - _ designed to be handicapped accessible. Of necessity,the parking and front entry will require that the addition lie roughly parallel to the adjacent road stem. Egress can be provided from the main house,toward the front,but a bedroom negates extending the addition to the rear without need for a variance. 2) That such hardship is not shared generally by other properties in the same zoning district and the same vicinity. The use of this property is limited by the setback from a road stem created to provide a temporary turn around easement granted VDOT. The slope of the land,and the unlikelihood of extending Inglewood Drive where a private drive is now sufficient assure that the diminishing of the setback requirement will,in no way impinge on the use,safety,or appearance of the road stem. 3 ) That the authorization of such variance will not be of substantial detriment to adjacent property and that the character of the district will not be changed by the granting of the variance. The finish and form will be the same as the existing dwelling,and will be architecturally compatible This addition will increase the value to be more in keeping with those of Inglewood Court. Further, it should be noted that the property facing this proposed addition has had two additions of its own. The application may be deferred by the staff or the Board of Zoning Appeals, if sufficient information necessary to this review has not be submitted by the deadline.
