Box 7823 Charlottesville, VA 22906 RE: Board of Zoning Appeals Action VA-2003-009 - Tax Map 45, Parcel 94B T/A Colonial Auto Center Dear Mr. Myers: At their meeting on July 1, 2003, the Board of Zoning Appeals voted (5-0) to grant the variance requested. The Board approved an increase in the maximum wall sign area from 200 square feet to 361 square feet, a variance of 161 square feet, to allow one nonconforming sign to be replaced 25 square feet larger on a new building. This approval is subject to the following condition: • The proposed signs are subject to a certificate of appropriateness from the Architectural Review Board. In granting this variance, four members of the Board requested that the following be communicated to the Architectural Review Board: These members question the need for a third Colonial Sign.
