HomeMy WebLinkAboutSP201600023 Public Notification 2017-02-23 COMMUNITY MEETING NOTICE RE: Community Meeting,Arden Place II (SP2016-023 and SP2016-024) Dear Neighbor, Castle Development Partners(CDP) invites you to attend a Community Meeting at 7:30pm on February 23, 2017 at the Albemarle County Office Building, Room 235, regarding a request for two Special Use Permits on Tax ID Parcel#61-124G (zoned C1 Commercial) and Tax ID Parcel#61-124F (zoned Highway Commercial). CDP envisions improving the vacant land to the east of Albemarle Square with a new mixed-use, walkable community that includes a second phase of Arden Place Apartments, followed by new commercial and/or hotel amenities in the future. It is CDP's vision to create a master plan of the land between Putt Putt Place and Albemarle Square that facilitates highest and best use growth, while incorporating complimentary design and improvement to the accessibility and desirability of the Rio Road/Albemarle Square area. Two of the land uses proposed by CDP under this new plan are R-15 Residential (15 dwelling units per acre) and a hotel—both of which require individual Special Use Permits under the parcels' existing C1-Commercial and Highway Commercial zoning ordinances. As part of the Special Use Permit approval process, CDP will hold a public meeting to present the proposed plan and open the floor for discussion and questions. The purpose of the meeting is to provide an opportunity for neighboring land owners to receive information and make inquiries about the proposed project, County review procedures, and relevant regulations and policies of the County applicable to the proposed project. The applicant and County Staff will be available at the meeting to answer questions about the project and the review process. The meeting will begin at 7:30pm on Thursday, February 23rd. The event will be held at the Albemarle County Office Building, Room 235—directions attached. We look forward to seeing you there. Sincerely, Andy McGinty Attachments: Directions GIS Parcel Map
