All information required for this request was received on September 26, 1998. Using the information submitted and the effective National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) map, we determined that portions of the property described below are located in the Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA), but the proposed structure would not be in the SFHA if built as shown on the submitted elevation information and the site plan, entitled "North Garden Fire Department Site Plan," dated June 29, 1998, last revised September 14, 1998, and prepared by Roudabush, Gale and Associates, Inc. The SFHA is an area that would be inundated by the flood having a 1-percent chance of being equaled or exceeded in any given year (base flood). This property will be elevated by the placement of fill. Property Description: Tax Map Parcels 99-5A and 99-513, as described and recorded in Deed Book 1271, Page 320-323 on November 19, 1992, and Deed Book 486, Pages 406-408, on April 22, 1971, respectively, in the Clerk Office of the Circuit Court of Albermarle Street Address: Flooding Source: 4907 Plank Road South Branch This conditional determination is based on the flood data presently available. Our final determination will be made upon receipt of a copy of this letter, and certified as -built information showing the location of the structure, the elevation of the lowest adjacent grade to the structure (the lowest ground touching the structure), and the elevation of the lowest floor (including basement/crawl space). Effective October 1, 1996, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) revised the fee schedule for reviewing and processing requests for modifications to published flood information and maps. Under this schedule, FEMA established a flat review and processing fee for each type of request. The fee for the as -built map revision request will be $300 for a single lot/structure and $700 for multiple lots/structures and must be received before we can begin processing the request. Payment of this fee shall be made in the form of a check or money order, made payable in U.S. funds to the National Flood Insurance Program, or by credit card. Box 3173 Merrifield, VA 22116-3173 This letter does not relieve Federal agencies of the need to comply with Executive Order 11988 on Floodplain Management in carrying out their responsibilities and providing Federally undertaken, financed, or assisted construction and improvements, or in their regulating or licensing activities.
