STONEFIELD BUILDING A=5 LANDLORD WORK
ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VIRGINIA
A. PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND COMPATIBILITY WITH SURROUNDING AREA AND
ENTRANCE CORRIDOR
The proposed work at building A-5 (the former Pier One store) located at Stonefield
1951 Swanson Drive in Albemarle County, Virginia, is a renovation to the central
structural bay fapade for future tenant improvement work. The purpose of the
renovation is to unify the whole of the building through a central hierarchical "staple"
element.
B. EXTERIOR CHANGES AND ADDED OR ALTERED MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT
Existing mechanical equipment is hidden by existing parapet and screening elements
ranging from 4'-10" to 7-0" high. New roof top units and kitchen exhaust fans will be
placed within the existing covered area and will not be visible from the Entrance
Corridor.
C. LANDSCAPING
No proposed changes to landscape
D. LIGHTING
Existing lighting will remain and no new exterior lighting is proposed
E. APPEARANCE OF PROPOSED BUILDING
All proposed alterations utilize existing materials, colors, and finishes found throughout
the Stonefield development and already previously approved by County ARB. The
intention of utilizing the existing, pre -approved materials is to retain the cohesive
aesthetic already established, and to minimize the observable revisions to the former
single tenant retail space.
F. SIGNAGE
Building A-5 at Stonefield is intended to be added to the existing Comprehensive Sign
Plan already approved for the other buildings within the shopping center. Individual
tenants will be submitting sign permits to the Albemarle County Architecture Review
Board for approval to ensure compliance with both the existing CSP and the Entrance
Corridor Guidelines for signs.
