Dear Board Members,
I write in support of the Charlottesville Albemarle American Legion's request to the
Architectural Review Board for a variance to the sign ordinances to allow the Legion a greater
amount of signage. The Legion would like additional space for their Community Message
Board. The current proposal from the ARB does not allow sufficient space for this function.
The board will be placed on the same wall as the American Legion sign, and will remind the
community of important dates and events.
I hope you are able to grant this request Please feel free to contact me if I may provide further
assistance.
Sincerely,
04/

Members of the Board of Zoning:
I am writing to you on behalf of the Charlottesville-Albemarle American Legion, Post 74.
I write to you in support of these veterans. They request that you approve the sign
designed for the new American Legion headquarters located on Louisa Road (Route 22).
The sign is intended to display patriotic messages such as "Honor Our Flag," remind
those passing by of holidays like Flag Day or Memorial Day, and finally to recognize
veterans for their dedication to our nation and commonwealth.
I am hopeful that you will approve the sign as designed in order to honor the veterans
who have so selflessly served us.
Sincerely,
a l

diligence, "ie" property inspection, county permits etc. six months was
suggested.
