Regarding: VSMP As -Built Re -Submittal — Old Trail Blocks 5, 20, and 21 (WPO 2017.00016)
Dear Ms. Cox,
Thank you for your review of the VSMP Bond Inspection for the Old Trail Blocks 5, 20, and 21. The following
comments have been addressed and responses to each comment are provided below.
1. Biofilter E
a. Provide more rip -rap outlet protection where stormwater enter the bioretention. It has been
washed out.
Additional rip -rap has been provided at the outlet.
2. Biofilter B
a. Required # of shrubs is 24. Existing count is currently 22.
Additional shrubs have been added for a total planting count of 28.
3. Biofilter A
a. Slope on the northern end of filter is too steep. As -built does not appear to match existing
condition on -site. Side slope should be 3:1 max.
Slope has been corrected with a timber retaining wall.
4. All biofilters
a. Replace trees/shrubs that re unhealthy or have died.
The unhealthy and dead plantings have been replaced.
5. Mitigation was required on the approved plans. Please show proof of mitigation plantings.
Mitigation areas have been outlined on the as -built plan, Sheet C5. Photographs of plantings and a
copy of the plantings purchase have been included with this submission as proof of mitigation.
6. Area circled below appears to exceed max slope (2:1) per county code.
Slope has been corrected with a timber retaining wall.
