Subject: Zoning appeal hearing concerning 2414 Huntington Road
Dear Mr. Fritz,
I write to you concerning the January 8 zoning appeals hearing on the
above property. I am unable to attend the meeting, but wanted to
express my feelings about the matter.
I reside at 2613 Huntington Road, and have lived here for about six
years. I am concerned about the adverse impact a kennel operation will
have on our residential neighborhood. While I live far enough away
from the property in question, I feel for her immediate neighbors who
must endure the endless chorus of barking dogs. In addition, the
unsightly kennel area and smell are surely detriments to the area,
which is quite a lovely subdivision.
I understand that Ms. Hawkins is operating a rescue operation at her
residence. While I applaud her intentions, such an operation is ill
suited in a residential neighborhood, and I urge Albemarle County to
enforce its previous ruling that said operation is not a permitted use
in the R2 Residential District.
Thank you for your consideration.

Subject: Zoning Issue on Huntington Road
Dear Mr. Fritz,
Thank you for spending time explaining the zoning issue on Huntington
Road. We appreciate the time you spent researching this issue and
uncovering the zoning violation. We certainly agree that 27+ dogs is too
many for one homeowner, even if the dogs are not being neglected. As
homeowners on Huntington Road, we hope that your argument wins at the
zoning appeal on Jan. 8.
Many thanks,
Susan Jacobson and Norman Oliver
