When a property is in a dam break inundation zone, you can use the Albemarle County GIS portal to turn on the layer and find the boundaries of the specific DBIZ, the name of the dam that the DBIZ pertains to, as well as the owner names and mailing address. 1. Please use the following link to access the web portal: http://gisweb.albemarle.ora/GISWeb/Welcome.aspx# 2. Click "Go To Mapping" in the toolbar on the far left hand side of the page. 3. Zoom to your property. 4. Under "Legend" on the right hand side of the page, click the "+" sign next to "Overlays" 5. This will open a drop -down menu in the legend. 6. Click the layer titled "Dam Break Inundation Zones - State" and this will turn the layer on. 7. You can then use the identify tool by clicking within the DBIZ layer boundary and this will open a pop-up menu with the name of the dam and the mailing address for the dam owners. One thing I wanted to ask ahead of the sending the official comment letter — what is the purpose of the BLA exactly? It going to be creating split zoning on TMP 78-15C9 and I am trying to determine if this is related to a site plan that is going to be submitted in the future to add a use permitted in the R-15 district to that parcel? Any info you can share would be much appreciated.
