Albemarle County recently received the request described below. You are receiving this
notification because you are the owner or agent of abutting property or property immediately
across the street from the site under review. The location of the site under review is shown on
the attached vicinity map
• PROJECT: SP 2007-00002 Farm Worker Housing
PROPOSED: Farm worker housing facilities including 5 sleeping cabins and 1 kitchen/bath
structure for 10 seasonal workers.
ZONING CATEGORY/GENERAL USAGE RA -- Rural Areas agricultural, forestal, and
fishery uses; residential density (0.5 unit/acre)
SECTION: 10.2.2 51, Farm worker housing, Class B (more than ten occupants or more than
two sleeping structures)
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN LAND USE/DENSITY Rural Areas - preserve and protect
agricultural, forestal, open space, and natural, historic and scenic resources/ density ( .5
unit/ acre)
ENTRANCE CORRIDOR. No
LOCATION: 571 Coles Rolling Road (Route 712), approximately 1 mile east of the
intersection with Route 713.

MAGISTERIAL DISTRICT. Scottsville
The project TENTATIVELY is set for a Planning Commission public hearing on MAY 8, 2007.
The Planning Commission will consider the staffs recommendation at this public hearing. The
Board of Supervisors will consider both the staffs and Planning Commission's recommendation
at a subsequent public hearing. The Board of Supervisors ultimately makes the decision to
approve or deny this proposal
State law requires that public hearings and actions by the Planning Commission occur within 90
days of acceptance of the Special Use Permit or Zoning Map Amendment for review; however,
public hearing dates sometimes are delayed The delays usually result from complexities with
the project, the need for a traffic study, or the need for worksessions with the Planning
Commission.
The County will send you another letter notifying you of the OFFICIAL public hearing dates
approximately three (3) weeks before the hearing A notice will also appear in the classified
section of the Daily Progress at approximately the same time. Notifications are not sent for
worksessions; however, the agendas for each Planning Commission meeting may be found on-
line at this address: www albemarle.orq under the Planning Department tab.
All information pertaining to the proposed development is available for review in the Community
Development Department during normal business hours (8 a.m.-5p.m., Mon-Fri). To assure the
information is ready for your viewing and to allow staff to be available to help with any
questions, we encourage you to schedule a viewing time. Please call 296-5832 ext 3070 during
business hours to schedule an appointment. While an appointment is not required, we do give
priority to those with appointments. Those without appointments may find the materials are in
