In anticipation, WPO plan should show, consider, or provide: a. Mitigation plan for improvements proposed within the landward 50' of stream buffer. Note: Mitigation plan must meet requirements of section 17-406. b. Identify runoff that reaches proposed settling basins located within the stream buffer. c. No petroleum or petroleum -contaminated rinse water or water-bome (emulsified) asphalt may drain to settling basins in the landward 50' of stream buffer. Solid, non -emulsified* asphalt material may drain, settle and be removed from settling basins in the landward 50' of stream buffer, if removed periodically. No discharge of solid asphalt material is permitted to drain from basins to streams, nor may industrial, quarry -related material enter a stream. Road grit, dust, debris, etc. may drain to settling basins provided these materials do not then discharge to streams. d. Provide tentative settling basin maintenance schedule (what is required, how often, etc.) e. Please provide narrative with WPO and ESP that describes or contextualizes what materials reach settling basins, via what route, and how materials are prevented from entering or contaminating streams. This is a feature of SWPPP template, section 6, PPP. f. Provide reference on WPO to approved SP201900009, with conditions, including approved critical slopes waiver approval anticipated to occur 1/19/22. g. Retaining walls greater than 3 feet in height require a separate building permit. Walls exceeding 4 feet in height require a stamped engineered design also. Walls require inspections as outlined in the USBC. Add the following note to the general notes page: 2. Buildings or structures built before January 1, 1985 must have an asbestos survey performed in order to apply for a demolition permit. 3. SDP2021-92 SL Williamson Asphalt Comments: Fire/Rescue — Howard Lagomarsino hlaeomarsino@albemarle.org O1-31-2022 1) Please provide a note on the plan identifying the location of the closest water source suitable for fire suppression operations. 2) During construction, the following fire prevention steps are required, so please note them on the plan: a) Smoking shall be prohibited in areas where smoking makes conditions such as to make smoking a hazard and these areas shall be designated with no smoking signs per Virginia Statewide Fire Prevention Code. b) Areas where smoking can occur, shall have appropriate receptacles for discarded smoking materials per Virginia Statewide Fire Prevention Code c) Per the Virginia Statewide Fire Prevention Code, vehicular access for firefighting shall be provided at all construction and demolition sites, provide access to within 100 ft. of temporary or permanent fire department connections, and have no overhead wiring or other overhead obstructions lower than 13 ft. 6 inches; this access may be via permanent or temporary road, but shall be capable of supporting fire apparatus in all weather conditions. d) Contractor shall ensure the street numbers are always plainly visible from the frontage street during construction per the Virginia Statewide Fire Code e) An approved water supply for firefighting operations shall be in place and available as soon as combustible materials arrive on site. f) Waste and combustible debris shall be removed from the building at the end of each day and disposed of in accordance with the Virginia Statewide Fire Code g) Fire extinguishers shall be provided, with not less than one approved fire extinguisher at each stairwell, on all floor levels where combustible materials have accumulated, in every storage and construction shed and in areas of special; hazards, such as where flammable and combustible liquids are stored or used, in accordance with the Virginia Statewide Fire Code h) Operations involving the use of cutting and welding shall comply with the Virginia Statewide Fire Prevention Code and shall require a permit from the Albemarle County Fire Marshal's Office COMMONWEALTH of VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION Stephen C. The plan does not include water or sewer service to the proposed facility, however, if does indicate 3-4 employees. Unless those employees will have access to restrooms elsewhere on that parcel, accommodations will need to be added to the plan to be in compliance with 12VAC5-610-80.C. of the Sewage Handling & Disposal Regulations which states that, `All buildings, residences, and structures designed for human occupancy, employment or habitation and other places where humans congregate shall be served by an approved sewerage system and/or treatment works ".
